Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Exodus 12:1-14

Matthew 18:15-20

“May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be an acceptable
offering in your sight, Oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer.”

My mother had a fascination with the number cults of ancient Greece. I have
books she gave me on the Phythagoreans. The Phythagoreans were named for
Phythagoras who had the theorem named for him and all. Some of you may now
remember the “sum of the squares on the other two sides.” If this is a good
memory, you have permission to dwell on it. If you never cared for Pythagoras or
his theorems, listen up.
